My Daily Supplements

In the past I have tried a lot of different supplements, pre-workouts, proteins, etc. and wasn’t really feeling any results. Once I did my research I learned I was giving my body a bunch of junk!

My Daily Supplements

Well, I learned from my mistakes and started giving my body what it needs. I love the science behind these supplements and how they work with my body. As a former biology teacher, I geek out learning about the different ingredients and how they can help my body. However, not everyone’s body is the same. These are the supplements I take because they are what my body needs. I am not endorsing these supplements or telling you that you should take them. That is a personal decision that should be made after much research.

Supplements should only be an additive to give you an extra boost in a certain area. Nothing can replace proper nutrition and exercise.


I don’t really consider this a supplement, it’s more of my daily multivitamin (more like my superpower!). I used to take lots of pills and supplements like multivitamins, probiotics, fish oils, etc. Spent tons of money on all that jazz! When I first started taking Shakeology, I took it to my friend, who is a doctor, to get her medical opinion on it. She told me to throw all my other crap out and just drink my Shakeology every day. If that’s not a ringing endorsement, I don’t know what is!

I have hypothyroidism and hypoglycemia so I have a really low energy state, to begin with. Shakeology has been like my life-saver and superpower so I never go a day without it. It is so amazing and helps give me the energy I need. I can’t say enough good things about Shakeology!

Shakeology Boosts

These just came out and they are amazing! Just like their name says, these are designed to mix in with your Shakeology to give you that extra boost in whatever area you need. The one I like the most is Digestive Help because it has extra fiber. I won’t go into specifics, but let’s just say the extra fiber is a must for me. Other boosts that I love are the Power Greens and Focused Energy boosts. The energy is long-lasting so sometimes I’ll take that if I’m having a long afternoon.

BeachBody Performance Line

When it comes to sports supplements, all of mine come from the Beachbody Performance line. I can’t say enough good things about their performance line. I was lucky enough to be selected for the test group for these supplements and I absolutely loved them! Never have I felt or looked better than when I started taking these supplements.

One major advantage of these supplements is that they are all NSF certified. This basically means that they follow rigorous standards that minimize the risk of banned substances and that the contents of the supplements you are taking match what the label says you are taking. These are guarantees you want from everything you put into your body, especially your supplements.


This is my pre-workout that I use pretty much every day. It’s all-natural and I just put one scoop of it in some water and shoot it back right before my workout. Some days I could not get through my workouts without it!


Think Gatorade but without all the sugar and crap. It’s got a lot of electrolytes and will hydrate you during your workouts. If I’m doing an intense workout where I’m sweating a lot, I drink a scoop of this before. I love this supplement because it makes me drink water and helps me reach my water intake goal.


I drink this chocolate protein as my post-workout recovery. It‘s a fast-release protein and tastes ah-mazing! Just mix it with water for a Nesqick type flavor. I typically drink this on lifting days to help my muscles recover.


This is a slow-release protein that is meant to be taken at night time. Since it’s slow-release it will fuel your body through the night so you wake up ready to go in the morning. It’s vanilla flavored and you can drink it just with water. My favorite way is to mix it with a little bit of warm, cooked oatmeal with a little cinnamon on top. It gives me a little night time sweet treat without loading my body with sugar.


I was in the test group for this when it first came out and was super impressed with how it boosted my performance. I haven’t been taking it lately. Use your own research and preference when it comes to using creatine.

This list may seem like a lot, but it’s really not. I just listen to my body and what it needs. I don’t necessarily take all of these supplements every day (except for Shakeology). The most important thing to remember about supplements is that everybody has different needs and goals. Everyone’s body is different and should be treated as such. You should always just listen to your body, it will tell you what it needs.
